Fiona stars in zoo

Taking the world by storm is eight month old hippo Fiona. Born premature on January 24, the Cincinnati Zoo has struck gold with Fiona.
Making her way through fame from “The Today Show” to CBS, Fiona is a major attraction at the zoo.
After videos went viral of Fiona, opportunities opened up for her to be an internet sensation. One of the most recent chances Fiona has had is “The Fiona Show” on Facebook. The first episode of the series came out on August 29, and almost 90,000 people have liked the Fiona Show Facebook page.
People have visited the zoo just to see Fiona.
“Seeing Fiona was one of the cutest things ever. She was a lot bigger than I thought she was going to be, but I still wanted to hug her,” said McKenzee Atkinson, 11.
Graeter’s has released a new flavor in honor of Fiona. The flavor Chunky Chunky Hippo is an ice cream with a toffee base mixed in with roasted peanuts and milk chocolate caramel truffles. Part of the sale will go to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.
There will be a book written about Fiona as well.
According to USA Today, “Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers will release ‘Saving Fiona: Science, Social Media, and the Story of a Baby Hippo’ on Jan. 22, 2019, just in time for Fiona’s second birthday two days later.”
“The best reward for going to the Cincinnati Zoo was getting to see Fiona, who stole the show,” said BawiTha Ceu, 11, who went to the zoo to see the famous hippo.
