United States Womens National Team (USWNT) takes field at Nippert Stadium

PREPARATION. At about 7:15 p.m., the USWNT takes the field for warm-ups at Nippert Stadium before playing their opponent New Zealand. Warm-up drills consist of ladders, short distance running, and stretching. Players from Cincinnati Rose Lavelle participates in warm-ups and starts in the game despite recently overcoming an injury. SNAPSHOT. The USWNT and opposing team New Zealand take a photo before the game. The athletes stay in this position for the singing of the national anthem.

KICKOFF. As the game begins, fans cheer in hopes of a win. Signs and cheers of support ring out for hometown hero Lavelle as she plays throughout the first half of the game.

NEW RECORD. A new all time record was made for the attendance of a USWNT game in the state of Ohio. More than 30 thousand fans gathered to watch the game and lead to the record being broken.

GOALS. Throughout the game, players contributed and lead to an overall victory of five to nothing. Alex Morgan led the way with scoring two goals while Lindsey Horan, Mallory Pugh, and Lynn Williams all scored one goal each.
