“It was the first day of Freshman Camp, and I was so excited to be a part of something so fun and meet all these new freshman. Plus, I would be missing a day of school, which was even better!
“I woke up that morning, and I could tell that I didn’t feel good, but I just thought it was a stomach cramp from not eating breakfast. As I was rushing out the door, I did not have time to eat breakfast, which only made the situation worse. I got to school and went to set up my station for the group of freshmen that I would get. One of the counselors I was with had brought donuts for our whole group, I thought this was the best thing because I really do love vanilla frosted donuts, so I thought that this was the perfect breakfast. My first mistake of the day was taking a bite of that delectable donut.
“I still felt a little queasy, but I thought it was just butterflies in my stomach. Anyway, the incoming freshman came to the school, and we went through the day as normal. I was feeling worse and worse as the day went on, but I could not miss this day. So I carried on, and as we were giving them a tour of the building, we got to the Commons, where my second mistake took place. I pointed out the Commons, and then the room started to spin; I felt super dehydrated. I didn’t know what was happening until I was leaning over the vanilla frosted donut I had just eaten prior to the event.
“I was rushed to the nurse’s office, and my mom picked me up. It was embarrassing at the moment, but looking back, it was the funniest moment I’ve had at this school.”
