IT IS HARD. For Jenny McCarthy, the mother of Evan Joseph Asher, she realizes that he has struggled for most of his life with having autism. It has impacted him in multiple ways, but mainly mentally, socially, and emotionally. He has encouraging parents who try to help him the most they can.
Evan Joseph Asher is the 15 year old son of American actress, Jenny McCarthy. His mother came out about him being autistic when he was five years old. He was diagnosed with autism by the Autism Evaluation Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital and was confirmed by the State of California (through their Regional Center).
Asher was bullied in summer camp, but because of the of autism, the impact of the bullying was not at first perceived by him. On the other hand, his mom did wonder when she needed to reinforce the steps he needed to take in such a situation.
He is now much more aware than he was. In the beginning he could not talk, he could not make eye contact, and he could not make friends. Now he is able to do all of those things.
