KEEP RUNNING. Senior Jonathon Malek competes in the 4×200 relay. Last year, Malek won state with senior Asa Hodrick. They won the 4×200 relay, so they were determined to qualify again this year.

While some spring sports are finished for the season, track still has relays competing.

Last year, seniors Jonathon Malek and Asa Hodrick won the 4×200 at state. At the GMC, at least one person in every event made it to the finals.

The GMC is an important meet because it brings the team together and sets the tone for the post season.

Sophomore Jordan McConnell was named GMC Runner of the Year. McConnell ran the 110 and 300 hurdles and the 4×100 relay at the GMC. In the 300 meter hurdles he placed fourth. He qualified for State in both the 110 and 300 hurdles.

Also, the 4x8oo relay has qualified for the Regional Qualifiers meet. The 4×800 relay has been breaking records throughout the entire season.

Coach Hank Ray was selected as Coach of the Year for the second time.

The team is eager to see how the 4×800 relay will perform at the Regional Qualifiers.
