Girls Varsity Soccer plays, bonds

  • GOAL KICK. Senior Mallory Comerford, goalie of the girls varsity soccer team, powerfully punts the ball away from the goal. On Aug. 30, the varsity girls soccer team played their positions during their game, which ended up paying off. The girls worked as a team and endured the hot temperatures.

  • POWER PLAY. Sophomore Yazmin Duffield forcefully kicks the ball, and successfully keeps it away from the rival team. The girls varsity soccer team played against Walnut Hills this Thurs. and made lots of great passes. According to Johan Cruyff, a Dutch soccer player and coach, “Soccer is simple, but it is difficult to play simple.”

  • RUNNING. Senior Maddie Thiss sprints the the ball while it flies through the air. During the game, Thiss, along with sophomore Zoe Stehling, freshman Dani Dattilo, senior Kyra Fales, and sophomore Yazmin Duffield scored goals. During the soccer game at Sycamore Junior High, the girls worked together to achieve their goal. They played together as a team and had an eventful game.

  • SAVE THE BALL. Junior Hannah Bruns saves the ball from going out of bounds during the girls varsity soccer game. During their game, the girls performed wonderful saves and passes, overall making their head coach, Brian Fallon, very happy. All of the girls played as one and had a great game.   • FRIENDS FOREVER. Before the game, the members of the girls varsity soccer team, gather together to wish each other luck and encourage one another. This team bonding exercise worked, and the team won 5-0 against Walnut Hills. “We get to know each other and we are there to help each other out if we need it. We are like one big happy family” said Lily Armbruster, 9, girls JV soccer player. Congrats to the girls varsity soccer team!
