Recipes to make with 5 ingredient or less
In the past two weeks, we have been in quarantine. A large problem for many people is that all we are eating is junk food. It doesn’t seem worth it to make a meal for one person when you can go grab some junk out of the cabinet. Maybe making recipes that have only a few ingredients will make it easier.
Blueberry Smoothie
Ingredients
1 ½ cups frozen blueberries
½ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Directions
Blend together ingredients on high speed, occasionally turning off the blender and stirring until well combined.
Crepes
Ingredients
1 large egg
¾ cup milk
½ cup flour
1 ½ tbsp. Melted butter
1 tbsp. sugar
Instructions
Put all ingredients into a bowl and whisk until there are no definable lumps. Heat a skillet, put a nickel-sized disc of oil and spread it around with a clean paper towel. Once the pan and oil are heated, pour about ¼ of a cup of batter onto the pan. Wait for the batter to look slightly brown along the edges, then flip. Remove the crepe when the bottom is golden brown. Top the crepes with spreads, fruits, whipped creme, or any other toppings you would like.
Tomato Pasta
Ingredients
1 serving of cooked pasta
3 Roma tomatoes
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. Garlic
½ cup fresh shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
Put butter and garlic in a pan over medium heat. Slice tomatoes in half, heat in pan and cover until the skin is able to be pinched off the top, about 5 minutes. Carefully remove the skin from the tomatoes. Pour the tomatoes and butter mixture into a food processor. Pulse the mixture 3-5 times and pour back into the pan. Add parmesan and stir until thoroughly melted. Pour sauce over pasta and enjoy.
