BREAK TIME. A typical spring break consists of traveling, spending time with friends and family, or even just relaxing by yourself. It’s a nice vacation from reality. However, with the pandemic still hanging over us, this year is going to look a whole lot different than past years. Some people may be traveling in a safe and cautious manner while others think it may be best to stay home for the week off.

We are back at it again with “A year like no other…” article—this time we are talking about spring break! A typical spring break consists of traveling, spending time with friends and family, or even just relaxing by yourself.  It’s a nice vacation from reality. But obviously, this year is gonna look a whole lot different than past years. Some people may be traveling in a super safe and cautious manner while others think it may be best to stay home for the week off.

This is my first year staying home for spring break in a while.  Although I would love to be packing for the beach right now it’s a little more difficult this year. In order to make sure that my family and I all stay safe and healthy we are staying home. However, a week to just chill sounds honestly just as nice. I am now even able to make plans with my friends for the week, and since the weather is warming up we can be even safer by being outside.

Paige Harris, 9 is planning on traveling to Florida, however, she is planning this trip to ensure that it is as safe as possible. She is driving down to Florida with her family and when she gets there she plans on staying at her grandparent’s house. “Since me and my dad are both vaccinated we [will be] going to the grocery store to get things,” says Harris. This way they will be able to get the things they will need in a safe way. These past couple of weeks she has found her mom googling “least populated beaches in Naples, Florida”. She will be driving back to Cincinnati at the end of her trip as well.

Obviously, this year is going to look quite different for spring break than years past but there is still a way to make it just as enjoyable as past years have been.  So, what are you waiting for? Kick off your shoes and start relaxing!
