The Flyerettes are ending their season. The team will be losing twelve members this year due to seniors graduating. Even though the season is ending, the girls still have a lot of work to do.

Their main goal now is to recruit members for next year’s team. The underclassmen are working to find people to join the team. The girls will be waiting to see what happens at the tryouts in May.

Being on the Flyerettes gives you several of opportunity to show your school spirit and improve your dance skills. Some of the opportunities you get are:

  • Dance at the pep rallies
  • Perform at the Varsity boys basketball games
  • Learn new dances
  • Meet new people

Next years’ team will have to work hard to become an exceptional team. The girls will have to have:

  • Dedication
  • Energy
  • Good Effort
  • Good Attitude
  • Hard work ethic

While this is their goal for the next month, they also have their last performance at the UC women’s basketball game, on Feb. 19.

Abbey Baker, Managing Editor
I am a sophomore. I am 15 years old and this is my second year on The Leaf staff. My passion in life is dance. I enjoy dancing because I love to express myself through movement. My favorite subject is history. A movie I think everyone should watch is "Safe Haven." Ten years from now I see myself at college working to become an interior designer. My favorite book is "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks. In my music library you would find 90 percent of it to be dance songs.
