When spring break comes to an end and fourth quarter begins students take two paths:
- Fall off- to a lesser or higher degree
- Finish strong
“It is definitely hard at the end of the school year because the weather gets warmer and you want to be outside and you just want it to end,” said Nicole Crone, 9.
Students may have their grades where they want them to be and do not need a fourth quarter boost where others need a higher grade to get to where they need their GPA it to be.
“This is high school, we have end of the year projects and exams waiting before summer,” said Mr. Gregory Pottebaum, math teacher. Faculty and students alike are excited for summer but they still have nine weeks left.
Another path is Senioritis: seniors slacking off knowing they got accepted to college or found their career path. Senioritis has led to reduced scholarships or changing acceptance to schools.
“I am feeling senioritis, I have always done my homework and my last semester of high school is not going to change that,” said Carly Lefton, 12.
Staying strong until summer will pay off.
