Now that tryouts are over, and the teams are set, practice has begun. The courts are not finished, and will not be finished until there are four days of above 50 degree weather, so practice has to be at another location, much like tryouts.
The Gold Team, or the A team, is practicing at the Western Southern facility. The Green Team, or the B team, is also practicing at the Western Southern Open. Finally, JV Team is practicing at the Weller Park courts.
The Weller Park courts are unable to be reserved, because they are public courts. This could result in interruptions in practice. On Tues., Mar. 18, the team only had three courts to use, because the others were taken.
“It is really hard to practice with 14 people on only four courts, but it is still a lot of fun,” said Jacob Habib, 10.
Tryouts are completely over, so the team members are competing for the top spots on their team. The rank of skill of the spots goes: 1st singles, 2nd singles, 3rd singles, 1st doubles, 2nd doubles, and practice squad. The courts are yet to be finished, and should complete as soon as possible.
