Snapchat, one of the world’s most popular social networking apps, has recently released its changing update yet.

The controversial app (some think that it is used for sexting) has introduced two new features: Chatting (similar to“kik”), and video chatting (similar to “Skype” or “FaceTime”).

Snapchatters can now use a private chat conversation with their friends, that does not require a picture with it. Once you leave the conversation, it deletes, keeping the viewing time limit an element in the app.

People can also now use the video chatting. If both of the people are online, a button will turn blue, telling both of the people that they are available to video chat.

Snapchat is now number eight on the Apple App Store, and is on the rise.

While Snapchat is having major success, some think that the new update is unnecessary.

“I think the new chatting update is unnecessary, because if we wanted to chat with friends, we could just use texting,” said Claire Hallock, 9.
