With the JV season nearing its end, teams in Cincinnati begin to think about the season-ending Coaches Classic Tournament.

The tournament consists of four divisions, all Cincinnati JV teams. The SHS team has had an undefeated 12-0 win/loss record, and will be the top seed in Division A, or “Flight A.”

On Mon., May 12, Coach Linsay Farroh attended a meeting to assemble the tournament. Discussion included where the tournament would be held, what division each Cincinnati team would be in, and who is playing for each team.

After the meeting, it was determined that the Coaches Classic would be held at the SHS courts, and that the JV team would be competing in Flight A, and would face off against rivals such as Mason, St. Xavier, Indian Hill, and more.

The tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. in the morning on Sat. May 17, and will finish at approximately 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon.

My name is Jack Loon, and I am a sophomore on the SHS Leaf Staff. This is my second year on staff and I love being a part of the student voice. One of my favorite things to write about is tennis. I play for the school team, who is one of the top ranked in the state. Last year, our A team was first in the state, our B team won the Sycamore Cup, and our JV team went undefeated. I love watching tennis, and keeping up with the Reds. I also love writing opinion articles. Last year, I wrote a few opinion pieces on things that happen in our school such as ACE, exams, and MAP testing. You can follow me on Twitter @jackoloon14, and on Instagram @jackoloon.
