In a technology driven world, students are taking advantage of the resources available to them. Online classes have become a popular choice for schooling.

“Studying online makes things a lot easier, but it’s hard to keep doing it with no other classmates to help motivate you,” junior Sarah Thompson said.

But why online learning opposed to a normal school setting? For one thing, it is very easily accessible for those who do not work well in the environment of a school.

Some high school or college students find themselves with big commitments that do not allow as much time in the day for traditional schooling. It is certainly an option that can benefit the student.

“Taking online classes really helps to accommodate for my busy schedule. Because I travel a lot for violin performances and lessons, online classes help me to be able to keep on track while I am busy with so many other things,” junior Emma Burge said.

Other benefits to online classes include:

  • No restricted classroom setting
  • Choosing study times
  • Balance in schoolwork and extracurricular activities
  • More control

Many students assume online learning is easier than regular classes. Often times this is not true because more work is required to be done alone in order to understand the subject.

“I think it’s the right decision for some people to enroll in online classes. It will help them fit their needs,” sophomore Anais Cabello said.
