Souls of Sycamore

Hello and welcome. During this past month of Sept. The Leaflet did an issue entitled “Souls of Sycamore.” It is inspired by the blog “Humans of New York” (HONY).
While working on that issue I fell in love with the concept and wanted to keep it going. Therefore, I have created the “Souls of Sycamore” blog. I will be posting at least once a week for the entirety of the school year. It is my goal to get as many faces of SHS as possible into the limelight and tell a piece of their story.

In addition to this blog, I am the editor of the Spotlight page in The Leaf, in which I choose one student every issue and do an in-depth interview with them. They then get a whole page in The Leaf dedicated to them and what makes them unique.

I suppose now would be the right time to tell you a little bit about me.

My name is Brooke Landrum. I am a junior at SHS and have been on the journalism staff for three years. I love talking to people, which explains the sort of projects I always decide to do, and want to get to know as many SHS students as I possibly can in my next two years here. It is my belief that everybody has a story, something that makes them who they are, and it’s my job to go out and find those stories.
