Hello reader! My name is Jalawn Monroe. I'm a junior and a first year journalism student! I'm currently on staff and work on ads for The Leaf.  

I like to think of myself as creative. I joined this class because for college I'm looking into minoring in journalism. I wouldn't say I'm the best writer but I love talking to people and having people share stories with me. I've only been in journalism for the last couple weeks. I love it! This class allows you to work in a group of writers to write for the leaf which is a sycamore high school publication magazine. You are allowed to freely express your own writing view and add personal touches into your writing. I've gotten the privilege to be thrown in for a writing piece for my first ever issue coming this September! I get to work with all ages of creative writers to make something fun for everybody and it's such a cool privilege.   

Outside of school I haven't really found a club but I spend a lot of time at work. And also with family on the side of that I get to volunteer with Operation Give Back which my family has been doing actively for 10 years and that has opened up a whole new family and has been such a fun and cool experience.  Let me go ahead and wrap this up for you guys and I hope you guys have such a good day and I hope you guys hear/read something from me soon.
