Halloween is the biggest holiday for giving out candy and dressing up in costumes. The chocolate industry has been making a lot of money due to its popularity. Most of the favorite candies are owned by the brand Hershey and Mars.

“Halloween is the best time of the year because of the crazy costumes and candy,” freshman, Sarah Abraham said.

  1. Reese’s

-The brand leads in sales of snack-sized packages, which are often given out to trick-or-treaters. The peanut butter cups covered in chocolate are big hits during the Halloween season.

“My favorite candy are Reese’s because I like peanut butter and chocolate,” Abraham said.

  1. Twix

-A classic mix of chocolate, caramel, and crisp wafer stacked to make the perfect snack-size candy.

  1. M&Ms

-Sales of M&M’s only trail the sales of top chocolate brand Reese’s by a small amount. Although it is the second highest selling regular size candy, it ranks only eighth among brands in snack-sized sales.

  1. Snickers

-The first commercial in the campaign, which aired during the 2010 Super Bowl, featured actress Betty White getting tackled in a backyard football game. It became an instant hit.

  1. Hershey’s

– Hershey has been making many of its famous branded milk chocolate bars since 1900. The brand’s sales shoot up for snack sizes, which are popular around Halloween.

-The Kit Kat brand, owned by Nestle, is popular worldwide. Sales of few chocolate bars grew faster than Kit Kats over the past year.

“I love Kit Kats because they are so easy to eat and they are so delicious,” freshman, Anita Pan said.

  1. Starburst

-One of the most popular candies that is not chocolate. The classic flavors are: orange, cherry, lemon, and strawberry.

  1. Butterfinger

-To all chocolate lovers, Butterfinger is a great twist in texture and flavor. It provides a nice variety to the other popular chocolate candies.

  1. Nerds

– This popular candy features little pebbles of sugary, fruit-flavored candy. They come in many different flavors and colors.

10. Sour Patch Kids

-As the most popular sour candy, it is a soft candy with a coating of sour sugar. When it was first introduced, it was considered a children’s fad, but has now become extremely popular.
