Runners soar through finish line

Juniors Grace Whaley, Maya Sheth, and Chris Seger immediately after completing the half marathon. The Flying Pig marathon is an annual event which occurred on May 1 to May 3. Events include the 10k, 5k, half marathon and marathon.

For 17 years, participants have been running through Cincinnati during the Flying Pig Marathon.

The Flying Pig Marathon is an annual event, which took place on May 1 to May 3, where people from all around the world partake in events including the 10k, 5k, and marathon.

This year, there were 37,700 participants in the event.

“This was my second year running the Flying Pig 10k, which is 6.2 miles. It was a wonderful experience participating in the event once again,” freshman Jaslyn Davis-Johnson said.

The marathon takes place throughout the streets of Cincinnati, Covington, Newport, Mariemont, Fairfax, and Columbia Township.

“I will definitely run again next year and hope to shoot for an even better time,” Davis said.
