Varsity baseball bulks up

The conclusion of last season’s Varsity baseball team was an ‘absolute disaster’. With many players swapping between JV and Varsity, it was hard to play a baseball game without worrying about specific positions to fill.

“Last season, we should have done a lot better. With some players getting hurt it was hard to come up with the big plays,” said Brady Ridener, 12.

Varsity baseball would like to not think about last season and have a fresh, new start to this season. With new players, Varsity looks to have a brand new team. Players will continue to impress as they did last year.

Out of all three teams, Freshman, JV, and Varsity, Varsity had performed the worst. Freshman had made it to the second round of the playoffs. After the disappointing season, Varsity looks to regroup with brand new players.

“Last season was an absolute disaster, there is no other way to put it,” said Ryan Wahler, 11.

Weightlifting has begun and will take place all the way through the beginning of the season. The weight lifting schedule is every day after school on Mon., Wed., and Fri.

Beginning in early Jan., conditioning will occur and will be on Tues. and Thur. Therefore, the baseball team will be staying after school every day to sharpen their skills.

“I honestly do not mind weight lifting or conditioning, it is actually fun to exercise and run and work out with friends,” said Drake Heureman, 11.

Many expectations will arise during the season and all the players will have to be ready for anything that will be ‘hit’ their way.
