February is Black History Month, a time for the annual celebration of African Americans’ achievements and recognition of their roles throughout American history.

This year, SHS will recognize some of the important accomplishments African Americans have made in our history by having opportunities to celebrate school-wide. There will be AVES bell competitions hosted by The Young Scholars of SHS to donate to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati

The competition will begin on Mon., Feb, 5 and will run until the Feb. 22.

Please donate any items from the following list:

• Pencils (ten pack)
• Pens (ten pack)
• Colored Pencils
• Folders

Donations can be dropped off in a bin in the main lobby. The winning class will receive a lunch from Chipotle while the winning AVES teacher will receive a special prize.
