Spring break is a time where many sports get to play a lot of games and get the new teams used to playing with each other. For the SHS softball team, that was the plan for this spring break, but Mother Nature had other plans.

The team was supposed to play several games over the break but only got one game in against Oak Hills; SHS won the game by three runs.

“I was so happy we won a game because it really was a very important game for us. We needed to win it to get our confidence up,” said Hannah Young, 9

As a result of having so many games canceled over the spring break, on Mar. 5 the girls played a double header against Kings.

The first game they won by a landslide 14-5, the second game was not as easy. The girls lost it 1-0.

“I was really disappointed that we lost the second game, it would have been great to win them both,” said Lydia Sloan, 11.

Since there were so many rained out games, the girls will have to work very hard to make them all up.

Hannah Frey
Hannah Frey, Leaflet Editor in Chief
My name is Hannah Frey and this is my fourth year being a part of the Leaf staff. I joined the Leaf because I wanted to expand my involvement in the SHS community and I wanted to learn more about graphic design. I am passionate about social equality and the social injustices that occur in our affluent society. Being in this class has helped me to see that I want to work for a nonprofit organization and help solve these problems. I am currently the editor and chief of the Leaflet, which is our online, design-based magazine. Every issue, I pick a new topic to be covered. Using design to cover these issues attracts another audience for the Leaf and makes it entertaining to have an in-depth look about a topic. Journalism has helped shape the person I am today, and it will help me excel in my desired field of work.
