"This summer I am so excited to be able to have more free time, so that I can hang out with friends and family. Also, I’m excited to go on vacation and be on the beach!"

    • WHAT’S NEXT? Only a few days after the riots on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, the United States Congress is growing increasingly more concerned about what their future will look like, with many different untravelled roads ahead. The question of whether to blame President Donald Trump for inciting the attacks and leading the country down the long road of a possible impeachment or removal looms ahead as the country holds its breath for Inauguration day on January 20, 2021. Whether to reprimand or punish the president or let him be. Whether to pursue another impeachment or just give him a slap on the wrist. All questions our Congress will soon face as the motions for different governmental actions begin and the clock ticks closer to the beginning of a new administration in a few short days. • SPOTIFY WRAPPED 2020 IS HERE. Spotify wrapped has come out again with it’s annual reports and everyone is fascinated by it once again. There are not many things cooler than seeing a customized playlist and stats about what music you have listened to over the year, But what makes it so cool? Is it the music itself? Is it because you can show off your top songs and artists? Well the answer is it’s a little of both. We asked SHS students what they thought of their wraps to find out more.

    • CHOICE IS YOURS. With decades of linear storytelling ending in only one result, what if we were able to decide how the story went. As video games are seeming to take more and more from the cinematic playbook, the opposite appears to have happened. This now allows viewers to make essential and impactful decisions in the movies/television they watch, allowing them to have a unique experience compared to other viewers.

    • BEING LEFT ON HEARD. We have all been there. The awkward silence. The hectic glancing around the room to avoid eye contact. The anxiety to be the first one to unmute rushing into your body. Although we can all agree that remote learning is certainly not the most ideal platform for school, it is important that we do all that we can to get the most out of it.

    • VIRTUAL VS. F2F. With this one week being the first week of virtual school for a lot of the student body adjustments are being made. While some students prefer the virtual schooling option over face to face, others are struggling. Some like the freedom of virtual school while others prefer the routine of face to face.

    • MISSING OUT. At present, many university students are spending little time on campus as some facilities remain closed or require limited occupancy. Many have opted, or are required, to attend virtual classes from home, and others remain in the confines of their dorm rooms.

    • DESTINATION: ISOLATION. The loneliness of March’s quarantine is almost too painful to remember. However, we have found a safe silver-lining around the cloud that is quarantine. What is it? As you may be wondering, the answer is learning in pods! This keeps you safe, because you are isolating yourself in a group of people, but also provides a solution to the boredom we have faced.

    • ADMIN ADVICE. When learning remotely, administrators encourage engaging fully in your classes, asking for help, managing screen time, exercising, and sticking to a routine. “I know together we can get through this together, and when we return to school, we will continue to do what we can to stay in school,” said Mr. Doug Mader.

    • SMALL BIZ SATURDAY. This holiday weekend, take some time to support SHS small businesses, like Upcycle Fashion Boutique, CK Crochet, Hoops for Hope Cincy, and the beloved Designs by Grace Z. Not only will you be getting a product you love, but you will bring a smile to a fellow SHS student, who has worked tirelessly to make their business a success. “Our products are always made for different reasons. Products made with love take a lot of effort, and it is so different when it is handmade and not made in a factory. Knowing where your product came from makes all the difference,” said Trisha Chidambaram, creator of Upcycle Fashion Boutique.
