Sophomore guard Daryle New goes up for the layup as the SHS varsity team warms up. This was their second home game of the year. They took on a 2-0 Fairfield team.

Junior center Ben Schehr (55) and junior forward Qawi Rucker (33) start the game with a jump ball. Schehr averages6.5 points per game. Rucker averages 11.8 points and six rebounds per game.

One of the team’s four seniors, Nick Gehrlich (2), holds the ball away from sophomore Myles Howard (12). Gehrlich averages 6.3 points per game. Howard, on the other hand, averages 2.5 points per game.

Senior Jalen Shropshire (3) dribbles the ball. This is Shropshire’s second year on the varsity team. He averages 11.5 points per game

Nick Gehrlich (2) drives into the paint and floats a shot over a Fairfield defender. Gehrlich had nine points and seven rebounds in the 16-point loss to the Indians. Gehrlich’s season high, 11 points, came in a win against Colerain.

Freshman guard Christian Kelly looks for an open teammate to pass to. Kelly is one of two varsity starters in their freshman season. His season high in points was 13 in a loss to Fairmont later in the season.

Coach David Moss directs the five men on the court around for a play. Moss lead the Aves to a GMC title in 2012-13 season as their coach. He holds the record for most wins in a season when he coached at Indian Hills.

Senior Eric Stepp (0)passes the ball into the corner late in the first corner. Stepp has been a vital bench player this season. This is his first year on varsity.

Junior Vince Logsdon (44) lines up for a three point attempt. Logsdon picked up one steal and three rebounds over 13 minutes off the bench. This is his second year on varsity.

Boy’s basketball warmed up in the gym before practice began after school. The boys have a game on Friday night at home. Following the game there will be a glow dance in the commons.
