Not only did SHS celebrate artists from all grade levels in the district at the March 7 art show, but some of the most impressive AP Art students nabbed prestigious awards.

At the Governor’s Art Competition seniors Hannah Brown, Julia Mattis and Rachel Kleindorfer as well as junior Becca Moskowitz placed. Ten local high schools competed in the Montgomery Photo Competition, and seven of the eight winners were from Sycamore.

Seniors Grace Hertlein, Julia Mattis and Morgan Hamel as well as juniors Becca Moskowitz, Amal Saeed, Jacob Mortensen and Lauren Shassere received cash prizes and had their images published. Shassere won an additional best in show award.
