The Aves ended their season in a hard fought loss against Ursuline Academy. Senior Lydia Deppert said, “The season was awesome. I’ve never been a part of a team that was so amazing as this one and I consider all my teammates my family.”

After a solid season, the Varsity Girls Volleyball team dropped a heart-breaking match to Ursuline Academy 25-17, 25-11, 25-16.
Senior Captain Camilla Cardenas said, “This year we had a lot of undeveloped talent and as the season went on we did a great job of improving.”
The team finished a respectable 5th place in the GMC with a 5-4 conference record and an 11-12 overall record. Their season ended Oct. 26 in the Regional Semi-Final.
Cardenas said, “We finished better than we did last year and I love that. I enjoyed being a captain and playing with the girls. We had a special bond this year.”
The Lady Aves were able to make their mark on the tournament, with a victory over 19-1 Talawanda in a tight, comeback match (22-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-9, 16-14).
Senior Lydia Deppert said, “Towards the end of the season our strengths really showed and we played incredibly well against teams we weren’t supposed to beat.”
The loss to Ursuline did not seem to dampen Deppert’s spirits.
Deppert said, “It’s cool to be able to leave the program knowing the seniors left a legacy and a lot of leadership to be filled up.”
