Consistency is key when it comes to AP classes. Year after year students read the same textbook, learn the same curriculum and take the same exam. However, this year’s AP European course is shaking it up.

A newly formatted exam along with a new textbook has been introduced for this school years AP Euro class. Although new pieces have been added the overall curriculum remains the same and the test will cover the same information.

Lily Martinson sophomore said.“I assume that because the format is new that it will benefit the students,”

APUSH, otherwise known as AP US history was subject to change last year. Similar changes were made to the format of the class as AP Euro this year.

The College Board has adopted a new LEQ format for the exam. In addition, despite the change in textbooks students learned their first chapter using the old textbooks for their summer homework.

Thea Ferdinand sophomore said.“I like the new textbook, its layout is well done and I think it won’t make too big of a difference in class,”

Although change can at times throw students off, teachers have implied that the switch will prove beneficial to their students. For now, the students will work hard until the AP examinations are administered in May.

Martinson said, “I think the class will be difficult but it will be worth it,”
