The famous annual musical festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California attracts a multitude of fans due to its diversity of music genres.

The artists and bands performing play either rock, independent, hip hop, or electronic music. The festival occurs on Apr. 15-17 and 22-24.

Popular artists like Guns n’ Roses, A$AP Rocky, Halsey, the 1975, Ellie Goulding, and more are performing. More not as well known bands and singers are performing as well.

According to Billboard, “32 million people go to at least one U.S music festival each year.”

The LA Times says that “[the] total 2014 attendance over two weekends [is 579,000].”

The festival is quite expensive, and a general admission ticket costed $375 in 2014. It started in 1999 and quickly gained popularity over the years.

Last year, the festival was number one in ticket sales for music festivals.

As found on Forbes, “In 2015, Coachella made just over $84 million in ticket sales.”
