Project Semicolon helps around world
The semicolon is an important symbol all around the world.
It is a symbol of a punctuation but it also stands for something important. It stands for suicide and self harm prevention.
“A semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you, and the sentence is your life,” said The Semicolon Project on their website.
As a way to remind people that their story is not over, Amy Bleuel created Project Semicolon. It is a nonprofit organization.
“My desire is that everyone knows they are loved and worth it,” said Bleuel on her blog.
The project involves encouraging people who have struggled with self harm or suicidal thoughts to get a semicolon tattoo to remind them that their story is not over.
