BOGIE. Senior Vineet Narayan dances next to his mom. Last year’s theme was “Superheroes,” and dancers may dress to the theme.

Once a year students may find themselves at a ball with someone they probably did not expect to be with: their parent. Odd Couples Ball has students invite their mom or dad to have dinner and a dance together.

“Odd Couples is a great experience, and it is just an amazing way to connect with your parents,” said Anushri Menon, 11.

Freshmen through seniors are eligible to go to the dance, which will take place on Sat., Mar. 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $25, which includes dinner, music, and treats.

“It’s a really unique night! Not only do you get to have fun with your friends, but you can laugh with (and at) your parents,” said Olivia Severyn, 11.

Dinner will be held in the gym with the dance taking place in the Commons, where lunch tables have been cleared out. Friends can have their tables organized together with around ten people to a table.

The annual event is hosted by PTO and features a photo section with props related to the theme which is “Back to the 80s.”

“The quirky theme adds to the fun because you get to dress up and be creative,” Menon said.

Students can get tickets online and volunteer to set up for the dance.
