Summer plans unknown
Will all summer plans be cancelled due to COVID-19?
Summer. The one thing everyone looks forward to from the first day of school. For me specifically, I look forward to camp the day it ends.
This year may be the first since 2015 that I will not be attending camp due to the coronavirus. There is a very high chance that it will be cancelled soon.
Many people have asked me the same question over and over, “Do you think your camp will be cancelled?“ Honestly, I think that there will always be a part of me that believes that it could, but I hate thinking about it.
Try to think about the one place that you go to and you do not have one worry or fear. This is camp for me. I do not know what I will do if it is cancelled.
“This was going to be my seventh year at camp, and I haven’t spent a whole summer in Cincinnati since 2013. I am not ready for this to happen because camp is like my other home,” said Peter Brownell, 9.
Everyone always asks me how I stay at camp for a month and leave my family. What they do not understand is that people at camp have grown into my family, and I barely ever get to see them.
However, not everyone goes to camp, but this does not mean that their plans will not be cancelled too.
Pools are most likely going to be closed, and festivals have a high chance of closing as well.
There have been many people that have made jokes out of the whole COVID-19 situation until it affected their life specifically. Then it will hit them: it has been over a month since you have last been able to see your friends, and now your summer plans may get cancelled in addition to this.
Coronavirus has caused very many things to be closed or get cancelled including school, graduations, restaurants, and summer is next in line.
Everyone knows that they were saying the summer of 2020 will be the best summer ever, but things have changed since that phrase was created.
Quarantine is happening for a reason. It is happening so everyone stays safe and healthy, and so life, including summer, can continue sooner. I am still hopeful that summer will be fine, and you should not think otherwise until it is said.
