ON YOUR FEET. Seniors cheer for their class at the Homecoming pep rally at the end of the school day on Fri., Sept. 22. The pep rally capped off the first Spirit Week of the year. Each day had students dress in specific ways to demonstrate school spirit, with the final day being class colors.
HEADS UP. Senior Emily Reddy bobs for apples in a contest between grade levels. The fall-themed activity was meant to match the “Haunted” theme of this year’s Homecoming dance. The seniors won this round by a margin of one apple.
PUMPKIN PARTY. Artists from each grade paint the faces of their peers to resemble pumpkins. By a vote from the teachers, the sophomores came out of top. The art teachers also prepared jack-o-lanterns that students voted on with cheers. The winning pumpkin was made by photography teacher Mr. Peter Griga.
“RAPT” ATTENTION. Seniors Matthew Isakson and Constance Kavensky hurry to wrap seniors Julia McDowell and Jeremy Pletz. After the homecoming court from each grade was introduced, they competed together. One couple from each grade wrapped the other pair with toilet paper like mummies. The juniors were picked as the winners by the volume of their cheering.
AVES. The cheerleaders perform a routine full of dance and tumbling, spelling out A-V-E-S. Following this performance, the Flyerettes also took the stage. Then, the two came together along with some teachers to dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
