Auditions were necessary to participate from Cabaret. Senior Anna Enriquez participated in Cabaret this year. “I’ve been in Cabaret for all of my four years of high school and I have enjoyed it more and more every year. It’s a very relaxing evening filled with lots and lots of talent. I loved getting closer to people in choir and discovering so many unique aspects of everyone," Enriquez said.

TEACH AND LEARN. The Sycamore Teaching Professions Academy (TPA) is a class SHS offers for students who want to work with children in the future. The class is for students who want to be teachers, go into social work, something with pediatrics, therapy and more. Seniors take two bells worth of TPA and go off into the community and student teach or shadow a professional. “Taking TPA has been my greatest choice of high school! I have learned so much about education, which has not only prepared me to be a better teacher but has also helped me become a better student. TPA has been an incredible foundation to build this dream upon!” said senior Mallory Comerford.

The Sycamore Aves Varsity Diving team is preparing for their next meet which will be the GMC meet. Senior Taylor Miller has been diving for her whole high school career. “I love diving. It is so much fun. I was a gymnast for 14 years and the transition from gymnastics to diving was easy. Diving is not as much of a high-stress sport as gymnastics was, so it is very chill,” Miller said. Miller ended her competitive gymnastics career this year.

Head coach Demarco Johnson focuses on the athlete’s strength, endurance, and technique by pushing the players hard every day. The team as well as each individual has goals for this winter. “Individually, I would like to become more assertive with my scoring and passing.
