Since 1851, The New York Times has published countless obituaries, from world leaders to scientists, movie stars to inventors. Most of these obituaries commemorated the lives of (mostly white) men. In honor of women’s history month, “The New York Times” is highlighting 15 remarkable women who left a huge impact on history, but were nevertheless “overlooked.”
