The Leaf

Carly Thiel
My name is Carly Thiel and I am one of the newcomers this year in Journalism. I wanted to join Journalism because I could be creative and have fun with my writing. I also wanted to meet new people because everyone told me that you become close to everyone doing Journalism. So far, Journalism has a great environment and I’  m always excited about my 3rd bell because I know I will get to talk to new people and feel comfortable in the class. In my free time, I love doing many things, including a variety of art projects like making string bracelets, playing the ukulele, and even just going outside for an hour with friends. I also have several activities that take up most of my time, including playing lacrosse and volleyball. I’ve worked very hard in each of the sports I participate in and focus most of my time on athletics because they are incredibly important to me and keep me in shape and in a positive mindset. My family and friends are also a very important part of my life; my family has always supported me with everything I do, and they always make me feel welcomed and I love always being with them. My friends are also very important to me because they have helped me get through so many of my problems. I hope I can continue playing sports in college but if not I plan to go to college somewhere in Ohio. I have no clue what I want to major in, but I’m sure that as I expand my knowledge throughout high school I will be able to figure out what I want to have a career in. If you are in high school and still don’t know what classes to take you should definitely choose Journalism.
