Concussions have some longer term consequences and affect one’s ability to think properly, due to bleeding of the brain. According to recent studies, wearing helmets and mouth guards do not prevent concussions, only minimize the damage and protect from skull fractures and scalp lacerations. Concussions have recently been a big issue, especially in regards to sports.
