VICTORY! The Sycamore Varsity A tennis team has beaten Mason again. Sycamore had three champions out of the five possible champions. This victory has given the varsity team a boost in confidence, and it looks forward to maintaining its success.

This 2017 season, Sycamore B players might play Sycamore A players throughout the draw. Coaches classic is very competitive to all teams who participate.

The mens Sycamore tennis program is looking for their fourth consecutive state title. With titles held in 2014, 2015, and 2016, this may possibly be seniors Noah Stern and Regis Lou fourth straight season with a state title. Winning state all four years is a very rare accomplishment.

Former world number one, Roger Federer, makes his way back after taking five months off from professional tennis. Federer announced he was taking the rest of 2016 off after a loss to Canadian Milos Roanic. As of now there have been five, plus tournaments and have already had some upsets within the tennis community.

Conditioning started on the week of October 17 for the boys, and the girls started the week of November 7. It is a way for each player to build a higher level of toughness than other schools in the state. Although they wake up at 5:00 a.m., after conditioning, the players feel relaxed and focused for the day ahead.

The girls tennis team will compete in the GMC’s this year and possibly win if the team has the correct mindset. All player will have to play to the best of their abilities. They will have to show respect and sportsmanship while in the process of playing.
