WILL YOU DANCE WITH ME? Student Council and PTO members sell Prom and After Prom tickets in the Commons. Tickets went on sale on April 12 and will be on sale for the upcoming weeks. In order to purchase tickets, students must fill out a consent form to be signed by their parents; the form can be found on the PTO website, in the office, or at the tables during both lunches.

CHANGE OF PLANS. Student council decides to cancel this year’s winter dance. This choice was made after only about 150 students bought tickets. “It was a difficult decision, and we are so sad for all of the people who were excited; we were too!” said Elayna Berry, 12, Student Council Executive President.

TEAMWORK. Dividing jobs between committee members
ensures that every aspect of the event gets the attention it
deserves. Collecting shirt sizes of all of the participants,
designing shirts and contacting shops for donations and
apparel each require days of planning and much attention.
Student Council meets every day and the committee meets
three times a week to get it all done.

The blood drive will take place in the Gregory Center. Students receive passes when they sign up so that they are able to leave class to participate. There is a special time slot reserved for students who wish to participate in a slightly different procedure. It takes about ten minutes longer, and separates the blood cells from the plasma cells then returns the plasma cells to the donor.

KAPLOW! Pep rallies, which are all organized by the Student Council, usually are well-received by everyone. Everybody can be seen rejoicing in the spirit of SHS, getting energized and excited. The Ave Cave gets rowdy for the night’s game. Photo courtesy of: McDaniel’s Photography.
