Jan, 31, 2016 as the Islamic State’s protest to not being allowed to attend a peace meeting in Geneva, Switzerland to discuss the end of the Syrian civil war. 45 people were killed in the assault, and 100 more were hurt.

The chocolate cake, with the message “Be Mine” on it, combined with the bouquet of roses is one popular common tradition among couples on Valentine’s Day. However, some prefer to be more original and present their lovers with more weird but thought provoking gifts, such as a cheeseburger hat and edible underwear. Some countries also practice interesting Valentine’s traditions, such as presenting your Valentine with an intricately carved wooden spoon in Wales, or having “Black Day” on Apr. 14 for single people in South Korea.

This is the schedule for Spirit Week for Sycamore students and staff. The event will last from Tuesday, Jan. 18, to Friday, Jan. 22. Originally, a Pep Rally was planned at the end of the week, but was postponed until Feb. 19 to promote Fashion for the Cure and its charity of choice: The Dragonfly Foundation. Fashion for the Cure will be on Fri. Feb. 26 at 7:00 PM.

Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron throws a pass against the San Francisco 49ers on Sun., Dec. 20. This was one of the last games the Bengals played in and won before round one of the playoffs against their archrival, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Cincinnati football team lost in a bitter defeat to their opponents on Sat., Jan. 9, 2016, with a final score of 18 to 16.

Police evacuate a high school that received a threat of an explosive placed in the building waiting to be detonated. School districts throughout the state of Ohio have been obtaining similar messages lately, forcing administators to vacate their communities. So far, no detonators have been found.
